BRIEF: Friends believe man's PTSD a factor in fatal shooting of Twinsburg woman after crash

Akron Beacon Journal - 8/30/2016

Aug. 30--Friends believe a North Ridgeville man's post-traumatic stress disorder played a role in a fatal shooting left that a woman dead Saturday in Solon, Cleveland.com is reporting.

Matthew Desha, 29, of North Ridgeville, was charged with murder in the death of Deborah Pearl, 53, of Twinsburg.

Desha had a video arraignment Monday in Bedford Municipal Court.

Solon police say Desha shot Pearl multiple times with an AR-15 rifle after he ran a red light at an intersection and crashed into Pearl's car as she drove to work.

Solon police Lt. Bruce Felton has said there's no indication Desha knew Pearl and no reports of a confrontation between them before Desha opened fire.
