The Middletown Press - 3/19/2021

Mar. 18—MIDDLETOWN — More than 2,700 green industry professionals are donating a full day's work Sept. 18 to honor America's military service men and women as part of Saluting Branches: Arborists United for Veteran Remembrance.

This nonprofit organization, which will mark its fourth annual day of service with the largest volunteer event in the tree care industry, will also visit the Connecticut Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, according to a press release.

Millions of Americans pay their respects each year at national and state veterans' cemeteries. Participating cemeteries include many across the nation, the organization said.

Visit salutingbranches.org for information. There are volunteer, donor and partner opportunities available for both industry and nonindustry supporters.

Connecticut Veterans Cemetery sponsors are Newtown Power and Equipment, Bagelman of Brookfield and Wallingford-based Ferguson & McGuire Insurance.
